Artist's Statement
“A Dance in the Peony Garden’ is inspired by the beauty of a peony flower and the saying that “Wherever life plants you, Bloom with grace”. In many cultures, Peony flower represents wealth, good luck and prosperity. The flower also embodies romance and love, hence they are often used in Chinese weddings as a symbol of fortune and happiness, and as well, commonly known in Chinese culture as “flower of riches and honor”.This painting is a reminder that… even through tough winter, always have the strength to grow back stronger with beauty and grace…to live life with positivity as if life itself is a dance through a peony garden.”
